Cricket

Well done to Holly for representing Yorkshire at cricket!

In May, I went to Wellbeck Cricket Club to play for Yorkshire against Nottinghamshire Girls U11s. In the first innings, I scored twelve runs and all together we scored 32 runs. Nottinghamshire scored 57 runs in their first innings and I took two catches and one run out as wicketkeeper. In the second innings, we scored 60 runs and Nottinghamshire needed 35 runs to win which they got with two overs to spare. Despite the result, I really enjoyed the day and our next match is against Lancashire.

Yorkshire Cricket's Visit

Yorkshire Cricket came to visit Key Stage 2 as part of their 'Chance to Shine' programme. Each class got the opportunity to participate in a range of games and activities.

Year 5 and 6

Year 5 and 6 Girls’ Cricket Team took part in the final of the IGS league. We won one game and lost another against Menston and Ghyll Royd. We all tried our hardest and overall we came second out of the three teams. Despite not winning, we all supported each other and enjoyed it!

The Year 5 and 6 cricket team (Amy, Alex, Holly, Ellie, Charlie H, Kishan, Freddie, and William C) competed in a cricket tournament. We are did really well, especially when it came down to our batting. Alex and Charlie hit 8 sixes in total. We are all really proud of each other, and supported each other throughout the matches. At the end of the tournament we finished 5th out 8 teams.

Year 3 and 4

The Year 3 and 4 cricket team competed in a cricket tournament at Oakwood. The team performed exceptionally well. Each player did really well with their batting and bowling and showed great sportsmanship. They narrowly missed out on the final by 3 runs.
